A gray, rainy day gave way to some gorgeous weather. We went in search of spring ephemerals.
The blue Hepatica was blooming. Just about my favorite.
There was a beautiful stand of them just where geopsych said they would be.
There were some white ones mixed in for good measure.
Saw only one Trout Lilly in bloom.
Rue-anemone were in bloom as well.
Thalictrum thalictroides is the botanical name.
Caltha palustris, known as marsh-marigold. That was as close as I was going to get with sneakers on.
